BVL 2015 REPORT

BVL Committee – The Bowlers to Veterans Link Hospitals and Presentations Report 

On behalf of the bowlers in California, the CUSBC BVL Committee has donated $117,586 to the following Veterans Centers in California for 2014-2015 season.  From 1959 through 2014-2015 the California BVL Fund has donated $9,183,478.55 to our California Veterans.  We want to thank all of you for your continued support of the California BVL.

McHenry Bowl, Modesto – March 21, 2015

We have completed all of the donations for this year and hope many of you will have a chance to visit a facility in your area.  After meeting and talking with the Directors and Team Leaders, we know how proud they are of their facilities and they would all welcome your visit.

The following is the breakdown of the donations:

$8,000.00 VA Northern California Healthcare System (includes outpatient clinics in Martinez, Fairfield, Mare Island, Oakland, Redding, Chico, McClellan, Yreka and Yuba City) – Help the Homeless and Needy Veterans with clothing, food, bus passes, transportation for Dr Visits and transitional support thru the social services department.  Model kits and supplies for the Recreational Therapy Program.
$7,000.00 VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System (includes outpatient clinics in Downtown LA, Bakersfield, East LA, Gardena, Lancaster, Oxnard, Pasadena, San Luis Obispo, Santa Maria and Santa Barbara) –Six Laptop computers for patient use.  Three Xbox Bundles, Portable Basketball Hoop. Volley Ball System with Storage Bag. 32” HD TV with locking cart.
$400.00 Los Angeles Veterans Resource Center – Bus tokens, field trips, holiday parties and refreshments for the veterans.
$400.00 Concord Veterans Center – Weekly Bowling and Golf groups, holiday parties, and refreshments.
$400.00 Fresno Veterans Center – Holiday outreach program and group outings.
$400.00 Peninsula Veterans Center – Holiday party, refreshments, coffee supplies.
$400.00 San Marcos Veterans Center – Holiday parties and bus passes.
$400.00 West Los Angeles Veterans Center – Holiday parties, excursion trips and refreshments.
$8,000.00 Jerry L. Pettis Memorial VA Medical Center (includes Palm Desert, Blythe, Sun City, Victorville and Upland VA Clinics) – National Golden Age Games, National Wheelchair Games and National Winter Games.
$8,000.00 VA Long Beach Healthcare System – Coffee Bar Assembly, Commercial Airport and Supplies. Provide a Veteran Social connection throughout the VA Medical Center & the Community Based Outpatient Clinics.
$6,000.00 VA San Diego Healthcare System – Funds used to pay for community re-integration outings for inpatients. Veterans Golden Games in Detroit, MI.
$6,000.00 San Francisco VA Medical Center – 15 Commercial Grade Rocking Chairs and 6 Heat Lamps, to be used in the CLC outdoor porch areas.
$400.00 North Orange County Veterans Center – Bowling activities, Bus passes and Holiday Parties.
$400.00 Redwood Veterans Center – Coffee supplies, retreats, outings and transportation to appointments at the San Francisco VA Medical Center.
$400.00 North Bay Veterans Center – Holiday parties, coffee supplies, water and other supplies.
$400.00 San Bernardino Veterans Center – Internet service, coffee supplies and holiday parties.
$400.00 Santa Cruz Veterans Center – Outreach funds for the Vets.
$6,000.00 Veterans Home of California – Barstow – Gaitkeeper 2200T Treadmill System and platform mounted parallel bars for physical therapy, for rehabilitative therapy.
$14,000.00 Veterans Home of California – Yountville – Registration for Music and Memory Webinars X2, Music Instruments, 4-person Bicycle, portable movie screen, large Touch screen computer, relaxation and Meditation supplies for Recreation Therapy Room in Skilled nursing facility.
$5,000.00 Veterans Home of California – Chula Vista – Drill Press for Wood shop, Table saw and router tables.
$5,000.00 VA Palo Alto Healthcare System – Golden Age Games & Veterans Bowling Program.
$6,000.00 VA Central California Healthcare System – Bowling activities, games, crafts, community outings, and Golden Age games.
$400.00 San Diego Veterans Center – Coffee supplies, Holiday parties, and grocery cards.
$400.00 East Los Angeles Vet Center – Bowling, Holiday parties, and coffee fund.
$3,000.00 California Bowling Writers – Phone Cards for the service personnel to use for the Holidays to call home.
$6,000.00 Veterans Home of California – Lancaster – Supplies for the Arts and Craft workshop for the residents.  Purchase Laptops for residents use.
$5,000.00 Veterans Home of California – Ventura – Replace a worn out pool table & pool cues. Jackson hard top Gazebo, to provide outside seating.
$6,000.00 Veterans Home of California – West Los Angeles – Purchase & install shade panel fabric to cover patio outside of main Dining Room for residents.
$5,000.00 Veterans Home of California – Fresno – Yamaha keyboard, Guitar and assorted items, for Memory Care Unit.
$400.00 Chatsworth Vet Center – Coffee supplies, Holiday parties, and grocery cards.
$5,000.00 Veterans Home of CA – Redding – Exercise equipment for exercise room.
$400.00 Temecula Vet Center – Bowling, Holiday party and Recreational Outings.
$2,586.00 Re-Creation
