Hall of Fame members from the California State Bowling Association (CSBA), California Women’s Bowling Association (CWBA) and the California State Young American Bowling Alliance (CSYABA) are already inducted into the California State Hall of Fame.  The CSBA, CWBA and CSYABA associations were merged into the California USBC in 2006.

ASSOCIATION OF THE YEAR

Eligibility includes associations that show teamwork and progression in promoting this great sport of bowling.

COACH/YOUTH DIRECTOR OF THE YEAR

Adult

This award honors those special Coaches and Youth Program Directors that do many things above and beyond to help the growth and support of youth leagues. They teach the fundamentals and sportsmanship of bowling and guide these youth into great adult bowlers.  Is your Youth Program Director or Coach someone very special and does many things that help the youth program to succeed? Then nominate them for this award by filling out the information below and tell us why you would like to nominate them.  Give us examples of the special things that he/she does to make your bowling experience so great.  This application may ONLY be submitted by a USBC Certified Youth bowler.

DISTINGUISHED SERVICE AWARD

Adult

Nominees must have made a valuable and consistent contribution to the sport of bowling and service must have been sufficient in duration to demonstrate frequent and sustained efforts to further the education and promotion of bowling.

HALL OF FAME:
MERITORIOUS SERVICE

Must be applied for each year

Qualifications include: 

  1. A minimum of 20 years of certified bowling in California
  2. A minimum of 15 years of bowling service and promotion in California
  3. At least 50 years of age

HALL OF FAME:
SUPERIOR PERFORMANCE

Adult

Must be applied for each year

Qualifications include: 

    1. A minimum of 15 years as a California USBC* member (unless career has been interrupted or shortened due to illness or disability)
    2. At least 45 years of age.
    3. A minimum of 12 years bowled in the California USBC* State Championships (unless career was interrupted or shortened by illness or disability)
    4. A minimum of 1 first place finish in the California USBC Championships, California State Masters or the California State Queens.

HALL OF FAME:
PROFESSIONAL PERFORMANCE

Adult

Must be applied for each year

 

Qualifications include: 

  1. A minimum of 15 years as a California USBC member (unless career has been interrupted or shortened due to illness or disability)
  2. At least 45 years of age.
  3. A minimum of 10 years as a PBA / PWBA member
  4. A minimum of 1 National professional title or 5 Regional titles.

PROPRIETOR / MANAGER OF THE YEAR

Qualifications include:

  1. Outstanding service in the promotion of adult & youth bowling;
  2. Services to the Bowlers of California;
  3. Leadership on the local and/or state level. This award may only be won one time.

Current USBC Youth enrolled in CA youth leagues

Bowler must have achieved at least a 20 pin increase in average from the previous season and have bowled at least 21 games in the league in which he/she established the qualifying average. (If no book average, the final league average will be compared to the current season average as of 21 games in the same league.) Forms must be sent to the Local Association USBC office no later than May 15 each year to qualify. If the league ends later than this date, notify the Local Association office for an extension.) One pin per season.

$2,500 STAR OF TOMORROW YOUTH SCHOLARSHIP

Current USBC Youth enrolled in CA youth leagues.

Two categories available: male and female. Recipients will be awarded a $2,500 scholarship to the University, Junior College or Vocational Institution of their choice. Eligible to all high school seniors. This award is both academically and sport performance graded.

$1,000 YOUTH STATE SCHOLARSHIP AWARD

Current USBC Youth enrolled in CA youth leagues that HS Juniors or Seniors

Applicants must be youth members of the California USBC Association that are Juniors or Seniors in high school. Scholarships may be awarded each year, but not necessarily every year. Points are graded for both academic and bowling participation (local, state and national). 

$1,000 BRAHEME FAMILY MEMORIAL YOUTH SCHOLARSHIP AWARD

Current USBC Youth enrolled in CA youth leagues.

Applicants must be youth members of the California USBC Association. This scholarship is in the name of George & Ola Braheme. Ola was the California Women’s Bowling Association (CWBA) Past President and 1978 CWBA Meritorious Service award recipient. George participated in 50 consecutive California State Tournaments. Both are inducted in the Salinas USBC Hall of Fame. This award is both academically and sport performance graded. Eligible to all high school seniors.

YOUTH HONOR SCORE AWARD

Current USBC Youth enrolled in CA youth leagues. Can be awarded year round.

This is lifetime progressive award provided from the CUSBC for 298, 299, 300, 11-in-a-Row, 700 (Girls), 750 and 800 series awards.  A copy of the recap and frame by frame printouts must be included. Only games 1-2-3 of a set are valid for series awards.  Applications must be submitted within 45 days of the achievement. Please allow 3-4 weeks for processing.

Please submit applications to the USBC office by the deadline.  Thank you for your support to this great sport of bowling! Majority of the presentations will be made at the annual California USBC Annual Meeting and Awards Banquet.
