2022 BRAHEME RECIPIENT

Michael Hayes, the nephew of George & Ola Braheme is the owner of this scholarship and wanted to honor his aunt and uncle with this award.

PAMELA FALLER is the recipient of the Braheme Family Memorial $1,000 scholarship award.

Pamela is a senior at Anderson W. Clark Magnet High School in Glendale and has been bowling league at Jewel City Bowl for over 9 years. She recently shot her first 300 earlier this year and has a high series of 726. Pamela bowls all of the local and state events each year and has attended Junior Gold in Indiana, Texas and Michigan. CYC AWARDS 2022 STATE $1000 SCHOLARSHIPS TO TWO YOUTHS

EMMA SHANER is a Junior at Golden Valley High School in Santa Clarita with a 3.90 GPA. She has been bowling league at Santa Clarita Lanes for over 5 years and serves as League Secretary in one or her many leagues. T. BETTE ADDINGTON 3/30/55 – 7/6/21

T. Bette Addington, age 66 of Bakersfield, CA and Prescott, AZ, beloved wife, mother and Grandma, drew her last breath July 06, 2021, in her final battle with cancer. She is now with the angels and flying above us. She will be forever cruzing in her cars with friends, bowling with the angels and rocking music thru the heavens.

We will be having a simple service that will be about the good things of life, no tear parties, filled with happiness and positive future. Her mission in life is not where you been but where you are going. It will most likely be in the next few weeks as we make the finalize arrangements.

Please in lieu of flowers we invite you make a donation to the Bakersfield Car Club Council, in Bette’s name.

2021 BBCF CA WINNERS

THE BEST BOWLERS COME FROM CALIFORNIA AWARD

The CYC picks winners each year based on their finish in our youth state events such as the Pepsi Youth Bowling Championships, State Youth Championships and the Diddy Watts Youth State Singles Challenge.  The winner will receive a FREE entry into the California Adult Championships. BVL 2021 REPORT

BVL Committee The Bowlers to Veterans Link Hospitals and Presentations Report

On behalf of the bowlers in California, the CUSBC BVL Committee has donated $12,063.64 to the following Veterans Centers in California for 2019-20 season. Since 1959, the California BVL Fund has donated over $9,692,422.15 to our California Veterans.  We want to thank all of you for your continued support of the California BVL.

CUSBC ANNOUNCEMENT

The California USBC Association Board of Directors met on 5/27/21 and have made the following decisions:
  • The 2021 Diddy Watts Youth Scratch Singles Tournament, the 2021 Senior Singles Tournament and the 2021 CA State Singles Tournament will be cancelled.
  • The 2021 Youth State Championships is set for July 10-11 and July 17-18 at Forest Lanes with a modified format of team only with a virtual singles event.
  • The 2022 Adult State Championships will be held at Forest Lanes starting April 30 through May.  Entries coming soon.
  • The 2022 Youth State Championships will be held at Forest Lanes for two weekends in July.  Entries also coming soon.
