CYC AWARDS TWO SCHOLARSHIPS for 2015
MIA SINGLETARY from San Francisco and WESLEY LOW, JR from Palmdale are this year’s scholarship recipients.
Mia is a senior at Galileo High School and carries a 3.14 GPA. She has only been bowling league for 5 years and has improved extremely quickly already averaging 174 and has a high game of 279. Mia recently won the U20 Girls Division in the 2015 Pepsi State Finals earning a $905 scholarship and also won the Queens tournament at the 2015 Youth State Championships held this past summer at Earl Anthony’s Dublin Bowl. Her team also won first place in their division.
Wesley Low, Jr is also a senior in high school and has been bowling league for 12 years (booking 244) in the Monday Family Fun at Brunswick Palmdale Vista Lanes. Wesley’s bowling accomplishments are incredible for his age (eighteen 300 games) and has already won events at the local, state, national, international and even regionally in the PBA. We can’t list all of the awards here, so we will amuse you with facts that you didn’t know… he ran cross country for 1 year and competed in wrestling for 2 years in high school.
These are two great deserving youth bowlers that are headed to college this fall. We wish them the best of luck in keeping up with their studies and bowling at the same time!!
