The Bowlers to Veterans Link Hospitals and Presentations Report 

On behalf of the bowlers in California, the CUSBC BVL Committee has donated $102,966.17 to the following Veterans Centers in California for 2015-16 season. Since 1959, the California BVL Fund has donated over $9,180,000 to our California Veterans.  We want to thank all of you for your continued support of the California BVL.

We hope many of you will have a chance to visit a facility in your area. After meeting and talking with the Directors and Team Leaders, we know how proud they are of their facilities and they would all welcome your visit.

The following is the breakdown of the donations:

 $     3,000.00 CBW – Phone cards for Vets
 $        400.00 Chatsworth Vet Center – Coffee supplies for Vet’s Coffee machine in waiting room. Annual Holiday Party.
 $        600.00 Concord Vet Center – $300 Bi weekly bowling groups. $300 Annual holiday Party and Picnic.
 $     2,000.00 Donation for Re-Creation
 $        400.00 East LA Vet Center – Coffee supplies for Vet’s Coffee machine in waiting room. Annual Holiday Party.
 $     8,000.00 Jerry L. Pettis Memorial VA Medical Center – $3500 National Wheelchair Games. $4500 for Monetary Support and Hygiene & clothing for Homeless Vets. Meal vouchers.
 $        400.00 LA Veterans Resource Center – Refreshments: coffee, tea, juice, sodas, cookies, and other nutritional snacks for Vets.
 $        400.00 North Orange County Vet Center (Anaheim) – Coffee supplies for Vet’s Coffee machine in waiting room. Annual Holiday Party.
 $        400.00 Peninsula Vet Center – Coffee supplies for Vet’s Coffee machine in waiting room. Annual Holiday Party.
 $        400.00 Redwood Vet Center (Eureka) – Coffee supplies for Vet’s Coffee machine in waiting room. Annual Holiday Party.
 $        660.00 San Bernardino Vet Center – $660 for internet services for E- Benefits, School, Job Search and Family Support.
 $        400.00 San Marcos Vet Center (Vista) – Annual Summer Picnic and BBQ. Annual Christmas Party.
 $     6,000.00 VA Central CA Healthcare System – National Veterans Golden Age Games & Wheelchair Games. Music, books and movie activities to promote creative expression. Community Outreach and exposure to leisure events. Party supplies, other sports equipment’s.
 $     6,000.00 VA Greater LA Healthcare System – 2 Anchor Audio Beacon Sound Systems, for patient Activities, Dances, and Picnics
 $     8,500.00 VA Long Beach Healthcare System – Activity room computers (Blind Rehab), for training low vision veterans. Occupational Therapy for traumatic brain injury patients.
 $   10,000.00 VA Northern CA Healthcare System – $5000 Financial support for our Recreational Therapy Programs: Bowling, YMCA Aquatics and Fitness. Art supplies, wood and plastic model kits, Leather craft kits (belts/wallets). $5000.00 Equine Therapy for Veterans.
 $     6,000.00 VA San Diego Healthcare System – Funds used to pay for community re-integration outings for inpatients. Veterans Golden Age Games in Biloxi, Mississippi.
 $     6,000.00 Veterans Home of CA – Barstow – Sole SC200 Stepper Machine. Lifetime 1529 Courtside Height Adjustable Portable Basketball System. Dome Sports Shuffleboard Set. LG 55″ LED 2160p Television.
 $     5,500.00 Veterans Home of CA – Fresno – 3 Schwinn Meridian Adjustable Bikes with 26 inch 3 wheel. Safety flags, bike covers and Street Bike Helmets. Supplies for Garden Program
 $     6,000.00 Veterans Home of CA (Lancaster) – $3000 for laptop computers to be checked out by residents. $2000 funding for supplies for Hobby Shop for arts & Craft supplies, shop tools, woodworking and leather supplies, canvases, brushes & paints.
 $     6,500.00 Veterans Home of CA (Redding) – 20 by 40 Event tent for out door events. Horticulture Therapy garden Bed for Residents.
 $     5,500.00 Veterans Home of CA (Ventura) – 70″ HD TV for media room to watch movies. Surround sound audio system and Blackout Shades for current room windows.
 $     8,500.00 Veterans Home of CA (West LA) – Pace American 14′ enclosed trailer to transport mobility scooters for activities and appointments outside of the Home.
 $   14,440.00 Veterans Home of CA (Yountville) – Star Trac8 Series Upright Bike with LCD Console. NuStep T-5 Recumbent Stepper. Star Trac S Series Club Competitive Treadmill-5yr Parts and Labor.
