On August 19, 1930, Phyllis Joan, was the first and only child born to parents, Henry and Amie Battey, both since deceased. We spent most of my toddler years in El Monte, California. SR SINGLES RESULTS

2017 Senior Singles

The Senior Singles Tournament is open to all California USBC members at least 50 years of age at the time of participation in the tournament. The format is six games total + handicap. This tournament is held in a different location each year. Winners in set age classifications will qualify to the USBC National Seniors Tournament. Entry for the national event will be paid by the CUSBC.

JENNIFER LOREDO & MEGAN CARPENTER

JENNIFER LOREDO from Fresno is one of two recipients for this year’s award. Jennifer is a 3.5 GPA freshman attending Clovis West High School.  Her aspirations are to open her own business so a college education in business administration and management is a must. She is looking into Wichita State, Webber International, McKendree University, Stephen F. Austin, Vanderbilt University, and Nebraska State University – all bowling colleges of course! DW CHALLENGE RESULTS

2017 DW CHALLENGE RESULTS

(Formerly Youth State Scratch Tournament)

This singles scholarship elimination event is for youth bowlers (handicap and scratch). The format is 5 game qualifying vying to enter the Semi-Finals. The Semi-Finals (5 games) will determine the top 8 boys scratch, top 8 girls scratch and top 8 handicap division finalists entering the double elimination finals.

$4,800 in Scholarships Awarded!

$1,115 Added Scholarships from CA Youth Leaders

2017 HoF SUPERIOR PERFORMANCE RECIPIENT – MATHEWS

 

2017 Hall of Fame Inductee
LOU MATHEWS

The Superior Performance recipient is Lou Mathews from the San Diego USBC. He has been a ABC/USBC member for over 53 years and has bowled in over 40 California State Championships. He has a high average of 229 and over 10 certified 300 games. He also owns three 800 series with 827 as his high. In 2008 his team won the CUSBC Open Championship team event! He continues to be very active bowling in San Diego and California area tournaments.

BRUCE PEDERSON

Bruce Pederson is our recipient for Superior Performance. He bowls out of the North County USBC and is also a director on their board. His highest average was a 221 and he has over ten certified 300 games with three 800 series. He has participated in over 30 State Championships and continues to bring teams yearly to the Championships! He is very involved in the All Military Bowling Championships and has won (2) All United States Marine Corp Regionals. He received the 2005 BPAA Golden Pin Award for customer retention for a 32 lane center. The best part is he’s also a really GREAT individual on and off the lanes.

2017 HoF MERITORIOUS SERVICE RECIPIENT – STUART

2017 Hall of Fame Inductee
ROY STUART

The Meritorious Service recipient is Roy Stuart who hails from Los Angeles and has been active in bowling since the early 1970’s. He has bowled in 33 State Championships and has coordinated teams to bowl in the State Championships for many years. He was instrumental in establishing participants for the Southern California Men’s Bowling Club and Open Men’s State Championships. Due to declining health Mr. Stuart doesn’t bowl any more but his vision and ability to provide direction for bowlers continues.
