FUJITA SELECTED FOR 2009 “STAR OF TOMORROW” SCHOLARSHIP
MICHAEL TAKEO FUJITA, JR. is the 18-year old son of Mike and Kathi Fujita, from El Sobrante, California and is a Senior at De Anza High School in Richmond.
While maintaining an academic excellence in all assigned subjects during Grades 9-12, never receiving a Grade under A-, Michael has a GPA of 4.292. His scholastic honors include the 2007 May Valley Community Award, which is presented annually to the high school student who makes a significant difference in his/her community. The Senior Singles Tournament is open to all female bowlers at least 55 years of age at the time of participation in the tournament. The format is six games total + handicap. This tournament is held in a different location each year. Winners in set age classifications will automatically qualify to the USBC National Seniors Tournament. Entry for the national event will be paid by the CUSBC.

BVL Committee
The Bowlers to Veterans Link Hospitals and Presentations Report
The California Bowlers to Veterans (BVL) Committee met in October 2008 in Sacramento to review the requests from the California Veteran’s facilities. The financial report was presented.
On behalf of the bowlers in California, the BVL Committee has donated the amount of $106,700 to the following Veterans Centers in California. A donation of $20.000 was made to the National BVL Program. The California BVL Fund has donated over $8,306,735.19 to our California Veterans. We want to thank all of you for your continued support of the California BVL.
